Tyler, The Creator Clears Up Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Rumors

Tyler, The Creator has set the record straight on the speculation that he’ll be popping out as a special guest during Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl halftime show.

The rumors began swirling last week following the release of a trailer for the eagerly anticipated performance, which takes place on February 9 at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.

Some fans picked out possible clues in the video suggesting that Tyler would make an appearance, including apparent references to the military aesthetic of his Chromakopia album and a nod to his recent “Hey Now” remix.
Tyler himself also left a cryptic comment on Kendrick’s Instagram post, fueling the speculation.

The Odd Future founder has now cleared up the guessing games — and fans hoping for a Kendrick-Tyler link-up at the Super Bowl will be disappointed.

Responding to the chatter in an Instagram comment on Friday (January 31), Tyler wrote: “n-gga im on tour i will not be at [a] football game yall better watch kenny.”

He was referencing his Chromakopia World Tour, which begins next Tuesday (February 4) in St. Paul, MN and will keep him on the road until September.

Tyler has a day off when Super Bowl LIX takes place, but the big game is sandwiched in between performances in Kansas City, MO on February 8 and Denver, CO on February 11.

At least one special guest has been confirmed for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show.

The aforementioned trialer featured an appearance from SZA, who can be seen dumping Gatorade on her “Luther” collaborator just as he begins to talk on the phone about who he might bring out during his performance.
